Jacques Barzun

A moment of quiet respect, for Jacques Barzun, the historian, philosopher, and Texan.  It was late in his life that he became a Texan, but he did make that choice
. 
Born in foreign parts (France, to be precise), he was drawn to the freedonm-loving shores back when freedom meant something.  After outliving his first wife, he moved to Texas, where incredibly smart and beautiful women are thick on the ground, and the weather is much better than it is in New York.

Really smart dude.  Got up to fighting weight at about the time that the Wilson Administration started doing a complete FUBAR on the educational administration.  He hit 'em hard, and he hit 'em fast, but they were just too big for him Coach.
