Here's a Thing
General Motors is demobilizing its
soldiers workers in Hamtramick, because they can't sell the Chevy Volt coming off those lines. It turns out that the only real purchaser has been General Electric, which sells GM the electrical parts for the damn things. GE receives tax credits for their Green intentions ('cuz they pay too much in taxes-oops, no they paid $ - lemme look it up - yep, zero), plus the rebates and subsidies, estimated at $40k per unit, they're essentially getting the cars for free. And check out the story - that's GE HEALTHCARE folks being required to use the damn things. GE Healthcare? Yeah, like the folks who make the big CT and MRI equipment in every big hospital?
